About Our Business
Transportation Safety Consultants was created to give assistants and support to transportation companies with DOT guide lines and procedures. Since the company was started, it has grown from a hand full of clients to a leading company for transportation safety throughout Arizona. We've assisted clients from Yuma to Flagstaff and across the borders to Nevada up to North Dakota and across the country to Virgina. Safety being the focus for the nation, we are dedicated in assisting companies meet and stay within the guide lines of the National Department of Transportation.

David Mattingly - Owner/President – Retired AZ D.P.S. Officer (27 ½ Years) Commercial
Vehicle Inspector / Instructor / Field Training Officer. HazMat Specialist, HazMat Instructor. State
Champion Vehicle Inspector 1995. International Inspector’s Competition (New Orleans 1995). IIC
Judge 2 years, North American Inspectors Competition staff member 4 years. Commercial
Vehicle Safety Alliance Size and Weight Committee voting member 6 years. Safety Director for a
total of 6 years with 2 major trucking companies. Certified Director of Safety by NATMI in 1999.
President of Transportation Safety Consultants since 2000. Certified Level 4 Instructor for the
Arizona Supreme Court to instruct defensive driving classes for a total of 14 years.
Mike Hutchison - Contracted Advisor & Consortium Manager – Retired AZ D.P.S. Officer (21
Years) Commercial Vehicle Inspector / Instructor / Weigh master / Field Training Officer.
HazMat Technician, HazMat Instructor. State Champion Commercial Vehicle Inspector 1997.
International Inspector’s Competition (Columbus OH 1997). Assistant Safety Director (2
years). Independent contractor to TSC 4 years. Manager of TSC’s Drug and Alcohol
Consortium 3 ½ years.
Dawn Hennerberg - Contracted Advisor – Retired CDL Truck Driver. Training on-the-job
with Hutchison and Mattingly. Log Auditor, Safety Advisor, (IFTA and vehicle registrations on a
limited bases). TSC Independent Contractor 3 years.
Bret Mattingly - Office Manager - 15 years of business administration and
accounting. Assisting in all office admin duties and log auditor. Also handles
all marketing and advertising.
Patrick Miano - Contracted Advisor - Retired Safety Investigator of more than 20 years for the
USDOT. Training certified in many fields including safety, compliance reviews, audits and
Hazardous Materials specialist. Fluent in Spanish and conversational Italian. Worked extensively
with Spanish speaking motor carriers & drivers.
